Coin A Word

Game “Coin a Word” is basically designed for Face Book. It is a puzzle game having four different game playing modes: Classic Single Mode, Classic Multiplayer Mode, and Coin Link Single Mode and Coin Link Multiplayer Mode. In order to play the game on Face Book, user must have valid account on Face Book and also Flash Player installed on his/her system.

It is an alpha version of the game and we are doing sanity and functional testing of the game (doing sanity tests in order to check that whether the game has grounds for functional tests). The game is principally divided into these areas: Loading Screen, Main Screen, Top Menu (it has different buttons like: Play, Challenge, Invite, Tutorial), 4 game playing modes (Classic Single Mode, Classic Multiplayer Mode, and Coin Link Single Mode and Coin Link Multiplayer Mode), and the Leader Board.

We faced different problems and challenges during the testing of game “Coin a Word” like: initially we created test cases for the game, settled proper environment for its testing (created different users for face book and invited on the game in order to play it), it did not cause much time on setting game testing environment for Windows XP ,but when we were going to prepare testing environment for MAC it did take much time ,initially the newer versions of browsers safari and fire fox repeatedly crashes whenever we try to play game. Then we replaced the newer versions to the older one (they worked fine but still there were issues when we compared the behaviour of game running on OS MAC with OS Windows XP). The main concern before starting testing is to set the proper testing environment. We can categorize issues we faced during testing into major divisions as: functionality, Lobby, audio and user interface and design, etc. No product is bug free at its initial stages, and the sole purpose of testing is to reveal the bugs and issues in the product to make it quality product.

After testing we logged issues and bugs into the bug tracking system “Flyspray Defect Tracking System”. Its interface was easy and user friendly and the defect tracking system were able to keep things simple.
